LUMINOUS

Colours are an incredibly powerful statement in nature. They form part of our understanding and the colours themselves begin to represent how we live our lives; red means danger, green means nature and white can represent every star in the galaxy. It’s the latter that forms the basis of Luminous; the joyous and fantastical piece within The Lines collection.

 

Taking it’s inspiration from the sparkling stars in the sky, Kyson builds on this premise by using traditional weaving techniques utilising multi-coloured, hand-stitched, hand-dyed yarn to create a free-form fantasy of colour. Luminous takes the viewer on a mesmerising visual journey through the use of diagonally intersection lines to create diamonds of colour. Like it’s companion piece Fluorescent, the colours of this piece are transformed when viewed under neon light, so you can enjoy it in a variety of new and exciting ways.
